I need help with my 2003 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. It has over 200,000 miles and the compressor finally stopped working. For the longest time it was making a loud
WHAAAAAAA sound then just this Sunday night, it decided to stop. When I checked it out, there was smoke coming from the pulley in front of the compressor. It was late and I was tired from work, so I decided to
let the engine cool over night and to check it in the morning. Well, the next day comes around and I opened the hood and started the car. Then I turned on the AC to see what’s going on with it. Either the pulley or
compressor was sparking and there was dry, warm air coming out of the vents.

I’m going down to the junk yard tomorrow to get a "new" compressor and pulley. Is there any other parts I need to pull? And do I need any special tools? As for regular tools, what will I need? I’m only an amateur when
it comes to working on cars, but I’m still young enough to become an expert. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks.

basically i need to know if i can buy a shorter belt and bypasss the air compressor?

What should I use for an air compressor?

I’ve Been doing a lot of bodywork lately and run a 6" da sander I think it’s rated at 10 or 13 cfm and my craftsman air compressor just can’t keep up. I have an industrial baldor motor that’s 2hp 1725 rpm it’s a 00 motor according to baldors site and it runs smooth and great. Do you guys think I can use that motor with the compressor I have? Or should I get a bigger 2 cylinder compressor? (by the way I have two I’d say medium sized tanks that are tied together) if I need a new compressor for that size motor what type should I get (best for the price I’m sorta on a budget)

i made my own aluminum bed attached to ground but i need an electric system that helps me to elevate the wood stage under the mattress to benefit from that place and use it..
any mechanical drawing or website link is recommended.
thanks in advance

What is the best multi purpose air compressor?

I would like to buy an air compressor that I can use for both inflating car and bike tires, as well as for tools like framing, brad and finishing nailers. Compact size and budget conscious too. Any suggestions?

My in-room A/C has three modes: Cool, Dry and Fan. It has one exhaust hose for heat, that is removeable. According to the manual, the exhaust hose must be n place during cool mode. It says nothing of the other two modes with regard to the exhaust hose. Now, this hose has a window attachment for dispelling heat to the outside of the house and that works great for using the unit cool mode. Here is my problem; We already have central air in the new house, so the a/c portion of the unit is not needed but we still need to use the dehumidifier (dry mode). In dry mode, the unit still puts out cold air from the usual vent and blows hot air out of the exhaust vent. However, in this mode, I cannot set a thermostat level (digital thermostat) and the digital readout only gives a measure of the ambient room temperature. I want to run this unit in my living room, but I don’t want to run this unsightly exhaust hose to my window in order to vent the heat. I want it to operate as a stand alone dehumidifier without a vent hose. Will this work without overloading the compressor? Is this typical of standalone dehumidifiers? Any help is appreciated. This was a 0 unit new, so I don’t want to ruin it. Thanks in advance.

I want to make an air cannon out of pvc pipe, but I can’t find an adapter for an air compressor to the pvc pipe. Where can I buy this and if I can’t buy it how do I make it?
Also, would it be possible to have a threaded PVC ball valve hook up to a Schrader valve, so I would have a length of pipe, a threaded ball valve on one end, a normal end cap on the other, and hook it up through the ball valve.

okay, i have a 360 with a benQ drive in it, and from what hear, it is one of the drives with the least amount of problems, a couple of weeks ago i started getting the open tray message every once and a while, then over the next week it just got worse to the point where it didn’t want to play anything, so like anyone who doesn’t want to shell out the money to send it in, or buy a new one, i started digging around on youtube and google, looking for a at home solution, i did that whole pounding on the top thing (satisfying as it was) that worked only the first few times, so then i tryed the rubber band trick, waste of time, so then i took the whole damn thing apart and cleaned it with q-tips and a air compressor, well it then read dante’s inferno, but not anything else…then not even Dante’s inferno would work. at this point i am about to toss the damn thing in a microwave, so again i looked for another idea, yank the power cord out, nothing. do the pot tweak, well that worked long enough to download a couple games to the hard drive, so i still have to fight the thing every step of the way but if i kick the hell out of it enough to recognize the disk, i just have the hdd take over, so i was wondering if anyone had any other solutions to this problem short of replacing anything or flashing the drive, at this point im just wondering how microsoft can charge so much $ for something that is barely worth its weight in dryer lint…

I bought a brand new air compressor and someone opened a drop the valve on the piping network and it lost air and it kept on going on and off i dont know how long but when i came back it did not work anymore
I bought a brand new air compressor and someone opened a valve on the piping network and it lost air and it kept on going on and off I don’t know how long but when I came back it did not work anymore (the valve was open only a crack so it had time to recharge and loos air every few minutes)I tried looking for a reset button but I did not find one, my compressor is a Dewalt oil less tank mounted
