I demonstrate how to hook-up the regulators on an oxygen, acetylene and nitrogen tanks to get them ready to braze. The guy in my intro that wears the pink shirt and wig is edbassmaster. You can check him out at: www.youtube.com The music was played and composed by Champagne Millionaire. You can check him out at: profile.myspace.com

Big money.
DR.Z It” a very informative video but one thing more i can suggest if you dont mind i always use to check for any leak on acetylene and oxygen valves and regulator by soapy solution on all joints of fittings and hoses to insure that no leaks before i start to braze for safety.
Thanks. Using a soaky solution is a good idea.
Dr.Z your welcome thank you too. you are big help to me .God bless!! hope more video tips and techniques. again thanks!!
Thanks for watching.
what the hack, check your gauges behore hand. 3 min of vid of haow you replace your gauges.
Please do a video response showing how you do it. Thanks in advance.
A small question, how much should I pay for a new set of oxiacetylene tanks?, cause a I saw a used ones but in very good conditions in a pawn shop and the price was $225, is that a good price? or can I get the new ones for almost the same price? “of course the little ones” thank you very much for your patient, God bless you
Thanks. $225 isn’t any great pawn shop bargain. It doesn’t really matter what the tanks look like because you’ll always get different ones when you buy more oxygen and acetylene. Just make sure that the manifold gauges and torch is in good shape.
A brand new torch and regulator set can run you about $120. The oxygen bottle will be about $80 and the acetylene bottle will be about $80, too. Also, a carrying case will cost about $40. That’s a grand total of $320. Something to think about.
AAAh big help, exelent answer, HAVE A GREAT EASTER DAY.
dr z just a thought on saftey,in canada all regulators must be removed from cylinders when transporting.
Thanks. That sounds like a good practice.
Dr. do you have to set the nitrogen tanks at a certain pressure like in brazing 5 and 10 , 7 or 20 or do you just turn the valves on?

About 5 psi works good for me.
Dr Z, Is it safe to keep Acetylene and oxigen tank in the garage. I am think about keep in the storage container in the back yard. Thanks for all the video you put on Youtube. I watched every one you have.
I keep my acetylene and oxygen tanks in my garage.
here in australia ,when you put gauges on oxy and acety ,you screw them, one clockwise, another anticlockwise,so you cant mix them. Why your gauges look so old?
by the way,good videos
My regulators have seen a lot of action. I guess that’s why they look old.
heres a little tip …
like the good doc said, Acetelyene is very unstable, and it is possible for the following to happen. oxygen can get trapped in lines and when you open acetelyene it can cause a non spark flame or explosion. a quick easy thing to remeber :
opening:
A before O or It’ll BLOW
closing
O before A and you’ll be OK
ALSO NEVER USE OIL ON YOUR THREADS, THROUGH YOUR LINES, OR ON YOUR VALVES UNDER HIGH VELOCITY OF AIR THEY CAN MICRO ATOMIZE AND CAUSE THE SAME SCENARIO AS ABOVE!
Great Video!!!!
Thanks for watching.
