So I admit it, I screwed up. I forgot which wire was hot. But they didn’t make it easy, I have a blue and a brown wire coming out of the motor. I know that the green is ground.
This is a 2hp Hitachi air compressor. Model no. EC12. I fished around at Hitachi’s web site, but could not find a schematic. And the manual does not have a schematic either. A picture of a new wiring harness was of no help. By the way, my pressure switch burned out, and I had to buy a new one.
This motor has dual capacitors on it. 120V, 13A.
Can my multimeter tell me which way the power should run?
I took a chance, and ran the blue to hot. I plugged it in, and it ran. Is it safe to assume I got it right? If I reversed polarity, it wouldn’t run at all, right? I just don’t want to burn out my compressor.
I’ve Been doing a lot of bodywork lately and run a 6" da sander I think it’s rated at 10 or 13 cfm and my craftsman air compressor just can’t keep up. I have an industrial baldor motor that’s 2hp 1725 rpm it’s a 00 motor according to baldors site and it runs smooth and great. Do you guys think I can use that motor with the compressor I have? Or should I get a bigger 2 cylinder compressor? (by the way I have two I’d say medium sized tanks that are tied together) if I need a new compressor for that size motor what type should I get (best for the price I’m sorta on a budget)
im looking to buy an air compressor and add sum 20 gal. propane tanks to it. trying to paint my truck with it. i saw this puma 2hp(5hp peak), 20 gal., 7.1 cfm compressor at northern tool. so it runs at 2hp but how do u run it in 5? and is this compressor any good, should i get it?
I using a Panasonic air conditioner 2hp…… The problem is, when i switch on the aircond, the compressor running then suddenly, power failure. The whole house no electric…So, need to switch on again from main box switch.. I dont no what happen actually.
rewired air compressor from 220v to 110v. Wiring is correct per the schematic. nameplate shows 28 amps at 110v and compressor kicks 30 amp breaker in about 15 secs. Captured a startup amp draw of 112 amps before kicking breaker. Is there something wrong with my motor? I’ve heard of time delay breakers but only find huge industrial type ones when looking online.
Oh and it’s rated at 2hp with 110v
