Air Compressor regulator knob fix?

My son removed the knob. I tried putting it back with spring inside but is not releasing the air or is not causing pump to kick in. one of the gages said 100 and the other one was zero. when I tried to blow air from hose there was nothing. The knob does not seem to work. I do not know if there were more parts. spring is just loose inside the knob, not attached to anything. Any advise. It is Camble Housefeld 13 gal compressor, model WL650102AJ

ok you need to rap the knob with telphlong tape, that the white plumbing tape, try lowes even walmart , two turn will do. the 100 dia is the pressure from the tank the other pressure is the line, sounds like you misslined the spring ,take it off and re screw it in slowly, you have a plug under the tank ,release this you maybe have water in side the tank,do this outside,it looks rusty,,also you have a pressure valve, safty valve, try turning it on, if you need any further help try , campbell at www, they have a onl ine help support
it sounds more like he broke it off. you can get replacements just about anywhere, for not too much money. it is a simple fix, they get broken on the job all the time. check home depot or lowes. good luck, and happy holidays!
