I want to get an air compressor mainly to remove the bolt on tires quickly among the many other uses it has. I need to know is there a certain pressure or size I should get? (As you can tell, I am kind of lost on the subject). Is there anything else that someone could inform me about on air compressors for the specific use I need it for? Any and all info is welcom and helpful. Thanks in advance.
Is the Accumulator in a car’s air conditioning system just another name for the Dryer?
I couldn’t find out information on the web about a car’s AC system. My mechanic said I need to replace the A/C compressor and the Accumulator. Im trying to find cheaper parts online to give to him.
cool the house last year and ran all day but my heat works great. I did not know if I could just get a new a/c without purchasing a whole new system or if they worked hand in hand together. Thank you.
I planning to buy a air pressure staple gun for a number of projects. There was one on sale that comes with the air compressor. It shoots 18 gauge staples. I looked at the staples and they look really thin. Can that kind of staple work with solid oak?
What I mean by partially is, it works when I am sitting still, but as soon as I take off, it stops working. I worked at a trucking company last year and the mechanic was adding freon to the trucks and asked if I wanted him to check mine. He did and decided that it needed about half a can of 134, when he was doing that, the amount he was putting in was not affecting the reading on his gauge that he had hooked up to it, so he put almost 2 cans in it. When I took it home that day, the compressor started acting funny, so the next day, he drained some of it out. Now, it hasn’t been working right since. I’ve had another mechanic look at it (with barely any air conditioning experience) and he stated that it was like nothing he’d ever seen, the high side would go really high and the low side would go really low. He mentioned something about draining all of the freon and possibly a little oil and filling it back or it could be the dryer and he would need a vacuum pump for that. Please Help
I’ve changed the fuse numerous times, but still no luck. The compressor clutch turns smooth if I turn it by hand. There are no leaks of any kind and the system is charged. I’ve checked the relays and they work fine. I’m thinking is the compressor going bad, but not sure, please help!
for paint application? I just got a pancake compressor – i’m googling the specs because the rig is at the worksite… it’s a 150 max psi – 6 gallons
it came in a combo kit with a trio of nail guns… porter-cable combo thing
I’m wondering if I can just buy an air sprayer for paint and hook it up to that – is that adequate psi for paint application? the thing does have an adjustable psi bladder or whatever but i’m wondering if the power cycling of the pancake type compressor will wonk up the even-ness of paint application
?
thanks~!
after reading the first response (which is appreciated) let me also add – this sprayer would be used for doing a rather small job at a time – spraying a built-in cabinet i’m adding, for instance
this won’t be used for any LARGE surface at any given time – just for some you know, interior latex type paint application on, say, 6 sq ft surface max
Hi i have a old Fliteway air compressor tank rated at 150 psi and have a bunch of 1/2 – 3 hp electric motors laying around my junk pile and i was thinking i could just buy a compressor pump or take one off of a car to get air in this thing.
What size pump should i buy for a 8 gallon 150psi tank?
Iv seen one at harbor freight for 150$ double piston model with no brand rated at 145psi 1000rpm 3hp, don’t know if it would work it looks a little much for what i want to do with it unless i get a bigger tank or more tanks like propane.

I have an R410A unit and I’ve read that an inert gas must be used to sweep the lines while brazing due to the r410a’s ability to move the oxidation through the system than compared to an R22. Most people prefer nitrogen from what I’ve been reading, but it is becoming too hard or too expensive for me to get it.
I do have an air compressor and the air seems pretty dry. I have a filter from the factory on the liquid line of the condensor and I’m installing a moisture indicator as well.
I’ve heard that some still don’t purge the lines if using a filter, bad idea? I can’t imagine the oxidation to be that large and the filter would likely trap it and not clog the filter.
Thanks for the help!
