The mechanic (at GNV TirePlus) claimed that I need to change my car’s air compressor because it’s "leaking"?!?! I just think the freon is dried up or, maybe, there’s a leak in the system. So I pour in freon and my ac is running fine for about a week now. How long does freon last if there’s a leak? or if the compressor is out? should i listen to the mechanic?
(Given that I parked my car unused for a FL summer month, then came back to find out the ac is out).

Now using compressed air from a fridge compressor with a water pump pressure control for switching compressor off when required pressure is reached. Reciever tank is from same water pump. Regulator I had lying around the workshop (don’t ask why) just put two lower pressure gauges on for viewing purposes. Starts and runs fine but going to put a gas pilot light on it for convenience. Had a heat exchanger and a radiator linked to it and managed to get the whole thing (approx 10 gallon) up to hot in 3 and a half minutes, bring on the winter!

This is a 2 cylinder compressor from the 1940′s made by United States Air Compressor Co. in Cleveland, Ohio. The 2 HP motor is single phase, 240 volt. The compressor head is a relatively new replacement.

This is a blow out on a ford Racing 4.6L DOHC Cobra motor and transmission. This brand new motor was pulled off of the assembly line and sold to dealers through Ford Racing. The starting price of this complete engine and transmission combo is 00.00. Shipping the engine will be the responsibility of the buyer. The Ford part number for this engine is M-60001-C46. This engine and transmission combo is complete “signature series” package for a late model Mustang. The engine includes a dual 57mm throttle body to the oil pan, alternator, full exhaust system, power steering pump, water hoses, Air conditioning compressor, catalytic converter, starter, forged steel crankshaft and connecting rods. The transmission is a T5 Tremec transmission. The engine produces 305 HP with 300 foot pounds of torque @5800 RPM with a compression ratio of 9.85:1. Why buy a rebuilt engine when you can have a brand new engine for a great price. Again the starting bid is 00 for this complete factory engine and transmission.

DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME!!! The hair dryer was enough to heat aluminum cans but not aluminum rods. I switched to an air compressor to push more air in and it definitely did the trick. Even though I was wearing safety glasses, a hot ember managed to get under them and burn off three of my eye lashes.

This is a group project we did in 2nd year of a ‘Bachelor of mechatronics engineering’ degree at Monash Unniversity in 2006. The device knocks under filled jars off a turntable. It does this by using an ultrasonic sensor to sense the height of the foam in the jar beneath it, and if it is too low (outside the allowed window) then it turns on a solenoid. Compressed air which comes from an external compressor is then allowed to pass through the solenoid, and through a pressure regulator (which allows us to control how hard the jars are hit), and pushes out the pneumatic actuator. It works at variable turntable speeds as well.

Computer will start up but cannot type in password. I have cleaned around the keys. No sticking problem. Have used air compressor to spray. Have let it air dry for 2 days and not able to use but a few keys. Can I take it apart and clean the insides and if so, is there a web site to go to that will show you in detail w/pics how to clean it?
